Monday Night Football!
A lot of drama in the games over the weekend, and now we move onto the last game of the round at St James’ Park. Newcastle will be desperate to start moving up the table, but they are up against arguably the most exciting attacking team in the league…
Newcastle United vs Manchester City, 20:00
Newcastle are in real trouble this season and will be looking to turn things around here. Along with Spurs, they are a really big club who should be doing better with the players available to them. What hasn’t helped them is all the boardroom shenanigans going on behind the scenes - no matter what anyone says, this DOES affect the players.
Manchester City have shown so far that they have the ability to tear just about any team apart - their first half display against Liverpool confirmed this. However, the hard part starts now, and that is acquiring the necessary consistency to match their new wealthy owners’ ambitions. Mark Hughes is still in the early stages of his managerial career, and you just wonder how much time he will be given should City not finish in at least a UEFA Cup spot this season.
Pundit’s corner:
With the way things have gone so far this season, this one should be quite easy to call. But Newcastle showed that they still have some fight in them in their last outing against Everton, so this will not be easy for City. Despite Michael Owen not being available, I’m going for a draw here as it seems like Kinnear has put some aggression back into the Toon.

Manchester United is the greatest football team in the world.
Glory glory Man United.
My prediction is 3-1 to Man City.
