Weekend Fantasy Football Tips

31 October 2008 310 views No Comment

In a bit of a change from the regular weekly previews, we look at the different weekend games and select the players who may do best for your fantasy league teams. If fantasy football has become an obsession for you, you might want to read this…

Everton vs Fulham

Fellaini (Everton)
Has started to show a bit of form now and looks a good bet to continue.

Pienaar (Everton)
Looks like he’s provided more of a creative outlet to Everton’s play, and could be in the assists this week.

A. Johnson (Fulham)
Two goals last time out and you wouldn’t bet against Johnson doing the business against his old club.

Chelsea vs Sunderland

Bosingwa (Chelsea)
A clean sheet looks a strong possibilty for Chelsea and Bosingwa provides an attacking threat too.

Malouda (Chelsea)
In the goals recently, he looks a good bet to score here as well.

Anelka (Chelsea)
As with Malouda, he’s putting the goals away so get him while he’s hot because he tends to bring in lots of points in this form.

Man Utd vs Hull

Ronaldo (Man Utd)
Can you continue to ignore him???

Evra (Man Utd)
As with the Chelsea home game, this looks like a potential home clean sheet.

Berbatov (Man Utd)
In red-hot form right now, he’s going to continue to get better, so ignore him at your peril!

Middlesbrough vs West Ham

O’Neil (Boro)
Looks like a great budget buy because he tends to get regular assists and goals when he’s on-form.

Alves (Boro)
Taking the penalties now as well, after Downing missed a couple. A good mid-priced striker to include in your team.

Bellamy (West Ham)
With Cole out suspended, this looks like a good chance for Bellamy to stake his claim up front, knowing that West Ham do have a couple of other striking options available.

Portsmouth vs Wigan

Crouch (Portsmouth)
The big man seems in good touch again and his partnership with Defoe remains the key to Pompey’s fortunes.

Kranjcar (Portsmouth)
Back from injury, it’ll only be a matter of time until he starts scoring fantasy league points again.

Stoke vs Arsenal

Delap (Stoke)
Those crazy-long throw-ins of his are a danger to any side in the league… Arsenal beware!

Fabregas (Arsenal)
Not a great fantasy league season for the little maestro so far, but he’s due a big week.

Adebayor (Arsenal)
The league’s hot striker at the moment… Cash in!

West Brom vs Blackburn

Miller (West Brom)
A real wild card this week, but he’s really, really cheap and he tends to score goals when coming on.

Villanueva (Blackburn)
He’s played regularly in recent weeks, and has shown the potential to score goals

Tottenham vs Liverpool

Jenas (Spurs)
He’s pulling the strings in the Spurs midfield alongside Modric, and looks a good bet this week.

Kuyt (Liverpool)
Scored a few goals in the league recently, and in a game like this, the hard-working Kuyt always looks likely to come away with a few points.

Torres (Liverpool)
A bit of a gamble this one, because no one knows if he’ll play yet, but do you really want to miss out when he does play and bags a couple of goals and bonus points??

Bolton vs Man City

Davies (Bolton)
His physical presence will unsettle City, who haven’t looked exactly looked the best in the league defensively.

Elano (Man City)
When he scores points, he scores a lot of them, and with City scoring goals like it’s going out of fashion, he could have a great week at Bolton.

Robinho (Man City)
Nobody expected him to settle into Premiership life so quickly, and there won’t be many betting against him scoring at the Reebok this week.

Newcastle vs Aston Villa

Martins (Newcastle)
With Kinnear bringing some fight to the Toon, Martins looks the most likely to score for them. A much better bet than Ameobi alongside him!

A. Young (Aston Villa)
Back in the points in midweek after a bit of a lean spell, expect the consistent Young to add to his tally against leaky Newcastle.

Barry (Aston Villa)
A few goals in recent weeks and Gareth Barry seems back to his best. He takes all the penalties for Villa too, so a decent buy for the long-term as well.
