Fantasy League Gameweek 9 - Team update!

Week 9 was a below-average gameweek for my Fantasy Football team, but these things happen over the course of the season. The most important thing is not to panic and make wholesale changes after one bad week. Let’s have a look at how the team did then…

Goalkeeper - Van der Sar - 2 points
Everton’s fightback in the second half took the clean sheet out of the equation, but there’ll be plenty more shutouts for United during the rest of the season.

Defender - Bosingwa - 2 points
Chelsea’s incredible home league record came to an end, and with it, all thoughts of a clean sheet for any of their defence. As with United, they’ll bounce back soon enough.

Defender - Laursen - 6 points
He just keeps bringing in the points, even though he’s not from one of the “Big 4″. Villa are starting to keep a few clean sheets now as well, so when he grabs his occasional headed goal it’ll be a double bonus.

Defender - Figueroa - 0 points
Wigan are starting to drop very fast, and he’ll probably be one of the players to be transferred out of my team soon.

Defender - Garrido - 6 points
Man City kept a rare clean sheet and he is very good value for what he costs.

Midfielder - Ronaldo (captain) - 6 points
A poor week from the so-far reliable Ronaldo. A bit worrying with his huge pricetag, but one huge gameweek from him and everyone will be looking to buy him again.

Midfielder - A. Young - 3 points
It’s getting to the point where I”m looking at replacing Young with a cheaper option, because he’s getting outshone by Villa’s other attacking options. I’ll give him another week or two though, because he’s due some good points.

Midfielder - Lampard - 3 points
Liverpool played him out of the game completely, but he’ll be back soon enough.

Midfielder - Geovanni - 8 points
Another good week from the bargain buy, his value will continue to rise in the game. Also my highest points scorer of the weekend.

Forward - Defoe - 5 points
Had an incredible game, so how did he not get any bonus points?? Still, an assist, so not all bad.

Forward - Zaki - 2 points
A rare week without a goal from the league’s leading scorer, but he still remains a must-have for me… for now.

Not a great week for me then, but I’m still averaging above 50 points per week, which is the goal. I’ve picked up 43 points to take my tally to 487 thus far.

I’ll have some more tips for this gameweek later on in the week, so pop back in to check it out. And remember that the next transfer deadline is tomorrow evening, as there are games on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
