Well, this Fantasy League thing is starting to become a bit of an obsession for me, so I thought I might as well post an update on how my team is doing. If there is a good level of interest, then it might become a regular occurence, along with some (hopefully helpful!) tips. So here we go, let’s start with that rock in the defence - the goalkeeper…

Goalkeeper - Van der Sar - 6 points
Looks like this will become more of a regular occurence with Manchester United, now that they’ve settled.

Defender - Bosingwa - 6 points
Chelsea are so strong in defence, so you can’t really go wrong with any of their regular starters. Problem is, they have so many injuries right now, so to me Bosingwa is the safest bet.

Defender - Laursen - 6 points
A rare clean sheet for Villa, so Laursen keeps bringing in the points. I like the fact that he pops up with goals on a regular basis - this is the reason why I keep him in my team ahead of some players from the “Big 4″.

Defender - Garrido - 0 points
Big disappointment, especially with the fact that I had Paintsil, who scored 6 points, as first choice on the bench.

Midfielder - Ronaldo (captain) - 16 points
Decent, but not mind-blowing. He will get better as the season goes on.

Midfielder - A. Young - 2 points
Not often that Villa have been kept out this season, so hopefully just a minor setback. To me, he remains a must-have in the team as he takes all the offensive free-kicks as well.

Midfielder - Lampard - 11 points
The money-man… you just know he’s going to pick you up some regular points every week.

Midfielder - Geovanni - 3 points
Decent return, although I’ve come to expect a bit more from him after his previous two gameweeks.

Forward - Defoe - 2 points
Surprisingly shut out this last week, but he’ll come good again soon.

Forward - Zaki - 10 points
What more can you say - he’s just about a must-have in this game.

Forward - Zamora - 2 points
Seriously considering dropping him from my side as he just hasn’t been performing. Will probably leave him in for just a little while more because it pays to keep faith with strikers.

So it’s been a pretty good week for me, I’ve picked up 64 points to take my tally to 444 thus far. My aim has been to average 50 points per week, and anything above that is a bonus, so that strategy has worked out pretty well so far.
